The tri-service gun tube wear and erosion symposium 1977

Proceedings of symposium. 29-31 March 1977. – 721 p.This volume consist of the technical papers presented at the Tri-Service Gun Tube Wear and Erosion Symposium, held a.t the Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, New Jersey, on March 28-31 1977. It was the first Tri-Service Symposium hosted at the newly formed Army Armament Research id Development Command (AKKADCOM).
The objective of this symposium was to review the work done under the sponsorship of the three services on the understanding and control of gun tube erosion since the previous one on this subject, which was held at the Watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet, N.Y. in February 1970. Another objective was to bring to the attention of the scientific community some new problems which have arisen as a result of the requirements of increased range, muzzle velocity and firing rates in some of the advanced high performance barrels.Content:
